It is my opinion, one shared I believe by those in our Society who really know what is going on, that our profession is in grave danger of falling victim to what I have dubbed 'the Three Card Trick'. Officially, this is known as the repeal of the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act and its replacement with certain Statutory Instruments enacted through the Health Bill now before Parliament.
