Fear and intimidation seem like the weapons of choice for politicians trying to drive home a point these days. The fear weapon was blatantly yielded by those attending meetings in a House Ways and Means subcommittee hearings in late March. An industrial coalition of some of the largest production companies in the United States testified that if the legislature passed the measures that were being discussed without providing specific allowances for their energy-intensive processes, that they would have no choice but to move their manufacturing operations to other countries.
