As magazine editors, we're fortunate to be employed in an industry that's loaded with passion, performance, and a host of special individuals whose talents propel them to hero status. One such hero has left us, long before his work was done. A year and two months after suffering a racing accident, John Lingenfelter, the veteran drag racer and performance icon passed away last December. In a strange twist of fate, his death was the result of an adverse reaction to medication administered prior to surgery to repair his injuries. His talents were immeasurable and his accomplishments were admirable.
