HVDC stability modelling requirements differ for various studies,nas well as for various systems. In particular, representation of fastndynamics may significantly slow down the time simulations due to smallernstep size requirements. While such details are required in some cases,ntheir proper simplification may be quite desirable in many routinenplanning and operating studies, especially for longer-term or onlinensimulations. In this paper, detailed and response models are developednusing both time domain and eigenvalue analyses, as well as comparisonnwith field information. A novel two-time scale reduction of the detailednmodel is presented, which offers a flexible compromise between detailnand efficiency. Appropriate model selection is discussed
