E.ON UK has launched an 'Energy Saver' package to help its domestic customers track energy use and save money. The package includes a free home energy monitor worth £45, which tracks consumption; capped electricity and gas prices to October 1, 2009; and online tools that measure energy use, produce energy efficiency reports and offer energy saving products. Meanwhile E.ON is spending £12 million over two years installing smart meters in selected consumers' homes. "The trial will help customers measure their energy use and give E.ON a further understanding of how energy-based information influences consumer behaviour," the company said.
