The BSC outlines the rules and governance arrangements for the balancing and imbalance settlement of the wholesale electricity market and facilitates competition in retail electricity supply in England and Wales. The ELEXON Best View Prices spreadsheet is the source of the Cash-out prices used throughout the calculations. With effect from 23 August 2001 the Best View Prices Spreadsheet reflects system prices independently calculated by ELEXON rather than those prices reported by the Settlement Administration Agent (SAA).
