Greenpeace has issued a formal complaint to the Market Research Standards Board about the role of Opinion Leader Research (OLR), the pollsters employed by the government to conduct the nuclear consultation day events.rnThe complaint concerns the techniques used by OLR and objects that survey questions were "not of appropriate quality"; that "positive messages" for nuclear power were "presented as statements of fact"; that respondents "were not able to answer the questions in a way that reflected the view they wanted to express"; and that "respondents were led towards a particular answer."rnOne attendee, Jessica Duncan, of the Edinburgh event wrote to Greenpeace on the matter saying: "I left the event in Edinburgh feeling (a) furious with the government's blatant marketing of nuclear power and (b) utter despair with my fellow citizens who seemed to blithely accept the false dichotomy of fossil fuel vs. nuclear as presented throughout the day."
