The Conservative Party has called for the introduction of feed-in tariffs to support the development of renewable energy in the UK.Speaking at the annual party conference in Blackpool, Shadow Environment Secretary Peter Ainsworth said: "We want to reward households which switch to renewable energy by introducing a system of feed-in tariffs which will dramatically boost the market for local energy." Ainsworth said that this would support homeowners who installed renewable energy generators in their homes.
