The UK Government has outlined details of its plans to provide funding for certain clean coal generation and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.The government intends to release more details of a competition to win support for a clean coal project next month. However, Business and Enterprise Secretary John Hutton said on October 9 that the selected project should demonstrate post-combustion CCS on a coal-fired power station, with CO_2 stored offshore.
