Falling dark spreads have made mothballing of coal plant (opted out of the Large Combustion Plant Directive) a serious option, RWE Npower's boss has told Platts (see interview page 36).Andy Duff, chief executive at RWE Npower said: "If you believed what the market is telling us today you would be thinking about mothballing opted out coal plant with limited hours and saving the hours to use at some future time after 2010."
