Gas prices have managed to prop up power prices despite very mild weather in early December. The Meteorological (Met) Office says the first week of December was "exceptionally mild" with overnight temperatures not falling below 10℃. The Met Office said that, during the day, maximum temperatures were around the 14℃ level. The normal daytime average maximum temperature in the south of England for early December is usually around 8-9℃. At nighttime, the average minimum temperature is around 2-3℃ for the south.
