Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks has confirmed that the UK Government is considering changing the rules on co-firing. Currently suppliers may currently fulfil up to 25% of their Renewables Obligation (RO) through cofiring. However that cap will change that to 10% on April 1 this year. In a statement to Parliament, on March 1, Wicks said : "A number of people have expressed concern about the change in the co-firing cap how it will impact on the government's renewable energy and carbon reduction targets.
