摘要

Progress on many windfarm projects in the UK has slowed to a crawl while non-wind technology projects have surged ahead, according to Power UK's latest survey of planned power projects. Leading the non-wind charge is New Zealand based company Global Olivine which has applied for Section 36 consent to build a 134MW energy from waste project at Peterborough. The plant will be able to treat commercial, industrial, municipal and agricultural wastes as well as sewage sludge. The plant is expected to process 150,000 tonne per year of agricultural biomass, 80,000 tonne per year of sewage sludge, 20,000 tonne per year of tyres and also to be capable of processing residual municipal, commercial and industrial wastes including hazardous waste materials from batteries, fluorescent tubes and asbestos.
