Ofgem's growing culture of bureaucracy has been slammed by one of its ex-directors. In an exclusive interview with Power UK, Kyran Hanks, ex-director of wholesale markets at Ofgem until the end of October, says that Ofgem's growing reliance on bureaucracy following its relatively recent reorganization is one of the main factors that caused him to look elsewhere for work. Hanks' departure is seen as a massive loss for Ofgem. He was one of the first people to join Offer in 1989. He moved to Ofgas and then Enron before moving back to the regulator two years ago.
