Basurama is A forum for discussion and reflection on trash and its reuse, as well as a roving, community-based project that uses public installations to inspire city dwellers to reconsider their relationship to waste. Launched in 2001 at the Madrid School of Architecture, the collective of artists, architects, designers, urban planners, and environmental activists has sought to explain what society's trash reveals about the current economy and how it can be transformed into a tangible resource for creativity.
