Treating money as contracts in the process of execution, or "under-executed contracts," the article describes its properties as an economic good. It is shown that money is a private good with valuable externalities, that is, a legitimate good. Based on this, the article concludes the need for state regulation of financial markets oriented toward minimizing negative externalities by restricting the use of the riskiest contracts.
