Over the past three years, announcements have been made in Siberia of the start of 126 joint projects with West European countries. Most of these projects are concentrated in the field of construction technologies and in the food industry. The Chinese lay claim to joint participation in collaborative ventures in the transportation and petrochemical sectors, while American investors are interested mainly in oil and gas extraction. So which category of foreign investors—the Americans, the Europeans, or the Chinese—regard Siberia as a territory for strategic investment? We discuss this with the head of the Foundation for Socio-Prognostic Research "Trends," Vladimir Suprun.
