摘要

A novel expresses a world as a model with concrete and universal descriptions, which includes expressions of landscapes. In this study, we analyze fifty-five novels which won Akutagwa Literary Prize from 1970 to 1994, to understand images of landscapes in recent years. Landscapes in the text are categorized into nine items and understood with stages of stories and periods. First, they are grasped quantitatively by the level of words. Then, reading stories around the words lead us to understand the meaning of items of the landscapes.
