Pillar Induction, Brookfield, Wis., has commissioned a 75 kW medium-frequency induction melting installation at a precious-metal refiner in the Midwest. Pillar provided the complete system with water-cooled power leads, bus work and interconnection. The new installation consists of one medium-frequency 150 Ib steel-frame furnace with a hydraulic tilt system. A 75 kW, 3 kHz Pillar mK8 power supply powers the system.
