摘要

The tidal current and elevation were reproduced by a three dimensional MEC ocean model during January 2009 in Kamaishi Bay. Also, we could simulate water temperature and salinity well during the same term. Then the effects of breaking waters are discussed by comparing the simulated results without and with breaking waters. Some changes could be found around the breakwater, while the change in circulation pattern was a little detected on the whole. However, the resolution of the grid system around the breaking waters was not enough in this numerical simulation. Also, we do not have the precise observation data around the breaking waters. The complicated flow around the opening of the breakwater should be examined accurately to check the effect and stability of the breakwater. Finally, the effects of the breaking waters will be discussed in the context of the impacts on ecosystem and fishery in and around Kamaishi Bay in the future.
