1 Brene Brown, research professor at the University of Houston, and bestselling author of Daring Greatly, argues that vulnerability is the birthplace of "trust, empathy, innovation, creativity, accountability, ethical decision-making, hard conversations and productive feedback". She cites Google researchers who found that two of the most important qualities shared by high-performing teams were trust and psychological safety. "You can't build that in your teams without demonstrating vulnerability," says Brown.
