摘要

Most organizations with employees working at heights have had fall protection policies and procedures in place for many years. However, many still lag behind on the rescue side. If employees work at heights, their employers must have a rescue program in place in the event a worker falls while at height. Further, such a rescue plan must be in place before it is needed. OSHA provides regulations and ANSI writes standards for employers to follow. OSHA publishes prerequisites for prompt rescue, while ANSI has made tremendous efforts to help employers meet the requirements for rescue. The latest effort by the ANSI/ ASSE Z359 Fall Protection Committee aims to provide guidance to help employers establish a safe rescue program. In addition, the committee has developed testing requirements to ensure that equipment meets stringent safety parameters.
