NIOSH's Center for Motor Vehicle Safety has released a 5-year strategic plan to help reduce the burden of work-related crashes. The Strategic Plan for Research and Prevention, 2014-2018 describes the center's vision, mission and scope to explain its work in the context of complementary work of other federal agencies, nongovernmental organizations and international partners. According to NIOSH, the plan aims to advance understanding of the risk factors associated with work-related motor vehicle crashes; evaluate safety interventions; promote the implementation of comprehensive road safety management policies; communicate research-based prevention information; and enhance the availability of guidance on crash prevention.
