Smart devices of all kinds are available today. Interactive whiteboards are used from the elementary school room to the boardroom. Deskbound office workers wear wristbands to track their steps during the day. Now, drivers can use a matchbox-sized gadget called Automatic to get feedback about their fuel-wasting driving habits. The device collects data about driving activity such as distance travelled, speed and trip duration, warns the driver when s/he is making poor choices, such as braking or accelerating too quickly, and scores the driver on his/her fuel economy.
