The superb research study by Darryl C. Hill, Ph.D., CSP, "Learning Outcomes: Perceptions About the Influence of ABET Accreditation on OSH Education," in the October 2012 issue was a needed groundbreaking examination of academic safety accreditation programs. While the study revealed that OSH degree programs should point to and consider ABET accreditation, it is essential to add two postscripts to implement this conclusion. To such an end, those disposed to seek ABET accreditation should know that the ASSE Foundation, through its James E. Oppold fund, provides more than a third of the cost of the ABET site visit.
