In its white paper, "Evolution of Fatigue Risk Management Systems: the 'Tipping Point' of Employee Fatigue Mitigation," Circardian stresses five key defenses that must be managed by fatigue risk management systems. 1) Workload-staffing balance. It is important to first address task-load issues and ensure proper staffing levels. According to the white paper, staffing level is the primary cause of overtime, and average time off and other factors can be related to employee fatigue. It is important to proportionally balance the workload throughout the 24/7 schedules.
