Construction safety continues to draw widespread attention, largely due to the high risks associated with construction work. The changing dynamic of the construction workforce is another concern, particularly the influx of Hispanic workers and the potential dangers the language barrier between these workers and their supervisors presents. "One can assume that if a major segment of the workforce is not getting the message about how to perform their job functions safely, then those same workers are probably not getting the message about how to perform the work at all" (p. 11).
