To provide people with more complete information on the chemicals released in their communities, EPA is proposing to add 16 chemicals to the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) list of reportable chemicals.rnThe 16 chemicals that EPA proposesrnto add have all been identified by the National Toxicology Program as chemicals that could cause cancer in humans. Also, 4 of the 16 chemicals are being proposed for addition to the polycyclic aromatic compounds category, whichrnincludes chemicals that may remain in the environment for a long time and may accumulate in a human body.
