OSHA sent a letter to nearly 3,300 grain handling employers in the U.S. warning them against allowing workers to enter grain storage facilities without proper equipment, precautions and training.rnAccording to OSHA Administrator David Michaels, these employers should consider themselves "on notice." He stated that if noncompliance by grain handlers results in fatalities, OSHA will not only assess civil penalties, it will also refer these cases to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution if it deems it appropriate.
