The global economy is driving almost every business and company to step back and identify areas of opportunity to reduce costs and increase efficiency while maintaining the quality and performance expected by customers. Safety and ergonomics processes have not been spared this scrutiny and have been expected to deliver their share of improvements and increased efficiencies.rnUnfortunately, most safety and ergonomics professionals have not been exposed to the same tool sets, such as six sigma and lean methods, as other areas of engineering. These process improvement methodologies are not magic and, in fact, can be applied quite easily and effectively to streamline other types of processes.
