FY08 was a challenging year for the Society, but ASSE delivered solid financial results. These results can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of the entire ASSE team. Revenues of $12.7 million increased by $700,000 (5%) compared to the same period a year ago. Expenses grew to fund higher revenue, expand member services and support other key initiatives. We achieved income of $558,000, which fell short of budgeted expectations by 4.5%. As an overview, 74% of ASSE's revenue comes from nondues sources while 26% comes from dues. It is our strategic direction to continue to develop non-dues initiatives in an effort to reduce our dependence on dues. Our main source of revenue is registration, and the Orlando Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exposition drew a high number of attendees. In addition, we held a successful SeminarFest in Las Vegas, as well as three symposia during FY08.
