摘要

A data bulletin from CPWR-The Center for Construction Research and Training provides updated employment and health information on construction workers and risk estimates in the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the bulletin, nearly 60% of the construction labor force has at least one factor for potentially higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, including underly-ing medical conditions such as heart disease or diabetes, and other risk factors such as smoking and obesity. Added to job hazards, essential projects and inadequate health insurance coverage among construction workers, this means that COVID-19 may have a greater impact on some workers, par-ticularly Hispanic and black workers, and those employed in high-risk occupations.
