Carex Canada, a multidisciplinary team of researchers aimed at reducing exposures to carcinogens and reducing the risk of cancer, has developed var-ious resources to help organizations address exposures to antineoplastic agents, which are used to treat various cancers. Exposure to these agents, also called chemotherapy or cytotoxic drugs, can occur in workplaces such as home care, veterinary care, community pharmacies and hospitals. Healthcare workers exposed to these agents have an increased risk of experiencing ad-verse health effects. The organization estimates that 75,000 Canadian work-ers are exposed to antineoplastic agents in their workplaces.
