National Safety Council (NSC) has released a three-part report on workplace fatigue based on the results from its 2017 National Employer Survey. The reports are the results of a probability-based study of 2,010 working adults.Fatigue can be caused by work schedules, environmental conditions and job demands. Fatigue is a factor in the workplace that causes injury risk to increase as sleep duration decreases. Workplace fatigue can lead to microsleeps, or nodding off, which present an increased safety risk and can affect an employee by decreasing cognitive performance.
