EPA released its final risk evaluation for methylene chloride, a chemical used in industrial processes such as paint stripping, pharmaceutical manufacturing, metal cleaning and degreasing. A volatile, colorless liquid with a chloroform-like odor, this chemical is considered by OSHA to be a potential occupational carcinogen, and common exposure occurs during inhalation and skin exposure.
