摘要

When the first edition of Project Management: A Managerial Approach was published in 1985, we were an early adopter of the text at The George Washington University. We looked around for a good text, and after examining several alternatives, we settled on Meredith and Mantel (M&M). At the time, I wrote a book review of the text and highlighted its principal strengths. First, it offered a comprehensive overview of project management practice. All basic topics were covered and handled in a highly readable way. Second, each chapter contained at least one good case study. The case studies did not just address construction topics (the dominant focus of project management at the time), but covered nonprofit and general business topics as well.
