Speaking at Chatham House last week in a rare public appearance on UK soil, JLL chief executive Christian Ulbrich opened up about the biggest threats facing the business - and they are not the obvious ones. A decade on from the financial crisis, Ulbrich did not seem concerned about the prospect of a collapse in property prices when put on the spot by the BBC's Evan Davis. He argued that JLL was "incredibly resilient" and had endured plenty of cycles of boom and bust over the past 200 years. Neither did he seem bothered by JLL's traditional competitors such as CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield, describing them as "friends" who face the same challenges as JLL.
