As is the case in the fixed-line sector, high tariffs have stifled the growth of mobile telephony in Poland. Not only is the country one of Central Europe's largest economies, but there is also widespread customer discontent with the fixed-line offering. While penetration in the region's two other major economies―Hungary and the Czech Republic―continue to surge, mobile penetration in Poland gives the country the appearance of a CEE laggard.
