This year, April 12-18 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW), and it's our favorite week of the year. It's the annual opportunity for colleagues, comm centers, communities and APCO to recognize the indispensable lifesaving work of our members. And as more communities and comm centers recognize NPSTW, they find more and different ways to celebrate. If you're looking for ideas, here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate. Slip positive notes into their mailboxes or onto their desks. Buy someone a coffee after they've had a rough day. Support your rookies by showing them a secret you've learned through experience. Play a kind of Secret Santa for NPSTW where everyone who wants to participate gets randomly assigned a person, maybe on a different shift, and leaves them treats or small gifts.
