DS Smith (DSS) is planning to acquire an 80% equity share in Indevco Management Resources, Inc. (IMRI) for $920m, with an option to acquire the remaining 20% in five years'time. The seller is Merpas of Luxembourg with whom DSS has signed a conditional agreement. IMRI is the holding company of US paper and packaging manufacturer Interstate Resources Inc (IRI). Upon conclusion of the deal, DSS will also assume or repay IRI debts of $266m, the company reported.
