For Italian board manufacturer Reno de Medici (RDM), activities in the first half of the year were influenced by the consolidation of Barcelona Carton. Output from the Spanish board manufacturer enabled RDM to deliver 80,000 t more than in the same period last year. The company reported an 18 per cent growth in sales to €362m. Excluding the contribution of the Spanish board manufacturer, RDM's sales receded: the organic drop in sales due to lower selling prices stood at €12.7m, the company reports. Barcelona Carton has production capacity for 200,000 tpy of coated recycled and virgin-fibre board. The company became part of RDM last November and has contributed €67m to group sales in the first half of 2019.
