Stora Enso is withdrawing from US processed kaolin clay manufacturer Thiele Kaolin. The group has sold its 40.24% stake in the company to Thiele Kaolin Company. Stora Enso puts the purchase price at €56m ($76m) in cash. Stora Enso became a shareholder in Thiele Kaolin following its€5bn acquisition of the US coated and SC paper manufacturer Consolidated Paper in 2000. The shares in Thiele Kaolin were not taken into account when Stora Enso withdrew from the North America business in 2007.
