In paper chemicals business In response to a drop in demand, chemical company BASF has announced that it will decrease capacities within its European latex manufacturing network by 120,000 tpy. Customers will continue to be served by the three BASF facilities in Ludwigshafen/Germany, Pischelsdorf/Austria and Hamina/Finland. Furthermore, BASF will continue to optimise its paper chemicals portfolio: the company will look into strategic options for its alkyl ketene dimer business (AKD) in Europe and North America.
