Borregaard has been awarded a commitment in financial support worth NOK118.8m by the state-owned Research Council of Norway and will use them for two research projects in the field of biomass. The funds come from Skog-Verdi, a joint venture between the support programmes BIA and BION/ER aid schemes. A total of NOK25m is said to have been announced here for product research in the forest and wood fields, said Borregaard in a press release. This commitment is based on a package of measures from the Norwegian government for the forest and wood industry in the 2013 national budget.
