The exceptionally brisk demand for pulp continued during the month of April. Both softwood and hardwood pulp manufacturers say they have "excellent bookings". "We were ahead of budget in every month of the first quarter in terms of volumes," reports a BEK pulp supplier, and this trend seems to continue in April. Prices for eucalyptus pulp remained under pressure nevertheless, as had already been the case in the preceding months, and lost some ground again in April with prices spanning from $750 to $770/metr.t.
