Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Limited has sold its entire interest in the paper manufacturer Qihe Chenming to Henan Jianhe Paperfor a sum of around RMB959m, approximately €116m. According to Shandong, results of Qihe Chenming had been deteriorating in the last few years and it was expected that it will record an operating loss in the first nine months of 2012. Owing to the difficult situation on the paper markets worldwide, Shandong Chenming's board of directors decided it would be worthwhile to part with Qihe Chenming. The company also wants to concentrate on its core markets to which Qihe Chenming's range of products no longer belongs. Owing to the book value and the interest for the sale, Shandong Chenming is reckoning with costs of around RMB73.9m (€9.0m) for the sale.
