On 13 December, Dunapack Packaging Division, part of the Austrian company Prinzhorn Holding, signed an agreement for taking over the listedTurkish paperand packaging manufacturer Denta$ Ambalaj Ve Kagit Sanayi A.S. Dunapack Packaging reports that Dentas Ambalaj ranks fourth on the Turkish corrugated board market with an output of 360 million m~2 of corrugated board (180,000 t) and a market share of 10%. The acquisition is said to make Dunapack Packaging the market leader in corrugated packaging in Central and Eastern Europe; it will raise Dunapack's sales volume by 33% to 1.4 billion m~2 (700,0001) of corrugated packaging, bringing the company a big step closer to its strategic aim of doubling its output to 2 billion m~2 by 2020. The planned takeover is still subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.
