Sonoco UK Ltd, subsidiary of the US company Sonoco, has acquired all the shares in Robinson Paperboard Packaging Ltd in Chesterfield, a division of Robinson PLC. Sonoco says the plant for rigid paperboard tubes and packaging for the food, beverage or cosmetics industry ideally complements its rigid paper container operations. The Robinson Group's plastics business is not affected by the deal. The company's sales last amounted to approximately €10 million. Sonoco aims to keep the company going with the existing employees and sees good opportunities for growth for it in the markets in the UK and Europe. The company is certified compliant with all the common standards.
