The French core manufacturer Abzac S.A. completed the previously announced sale of its Le Crouzet plant on 1 September 2009. The coreboard factory located in Saint Di-dier en Velay has meanwhile passed into the ownership of Primeasia Fiber and Paper PTE Ltd, a subsidiary of the Indian company Bil-tube. Financial details about the transaction have not been disclosed. The plant is said to have a production capacity of approximately 30,000 tpy. The employees of the Le Crouzet plant are to be kept on by the new owners.rnAbzac says the reason for the action is that the company no longer sees any need to be an integrated producer following the developments that have taken place in coreboard manufacturing since the Le Crouzet plant was taken over in 1991 and therefore now intends to concentrate entirely on converting. The company will produce cores and fibre drums in Europe and North America in future. Abzac reports that Biltube is planning to update and enlarge the Le Crouzet facility.
