One of the great success stories in R/C aeromodelling in recent years has to be the emergence of a huge range of ready to fly models, with radio gear and power systems pre-f itted at the factory. Such models are either completely ready to fly straight from the box (usually small model types) or very close to being able to be flown following a short assembly session. This is great if you have limited time in which to build a new model, but invariably it means that you are locked in to using a transmitter that matches the type of radio gear fitted inside the pre-prepared model. So what happens if you fancy the look of a certain brand of RTF model but lack a transmitter of the required type with which to fly it?
